I think I won this one...
The classic Internet debate. They're really fun, and as long as nobody calls someone a Nazi, they're nice and long too. My hope is that this one utterly takes the cake when it comes to internet debate. The highly stupid savagestupidity.com website (a site whose name describes itself and it's owner far better than the opinions of talk show host Michael Savage) has been the target of much expected flak, and the owner (Thomas Leavitt, I think is his name) responds to each of them. How friendly. Only this time, he got one doozie of a non-hateful counter, from a Christian who behaved well-manneredly and who used some pretty sound reasoning. Thomas countered the hard facts that the person sent him using liberal opinions. Of course, to another ignorant liberal, it will appear correct, but to myself and the other conservatives or people with common sense out there... it looks retarded. So here it is. Yes, the man has some issues with being a “gentleman” all the time. But can
you actually deny the fact that he is hyperbolistically semi-accurate in
just about everything he’s ever said.
["hyperbolistically” - is that a word in the English language? … nope, doesn’t appear to be. Not in the dictionary, only two instances in all of Google. … and yes, I can deny that Savage is any more accurate than a stopped clock (twice a day, if he’s lucky). HYPERBOLICALLY (that’s the word you wanted, dude; note to self: thank Santa Monica’s public schools for giving me a good education and a solid grasp of the English language) semi-accurate? Not even close.]
I won't deny that public schools have done a pretty good job. They turned out successful citizens who have done their tasks in life, whether it be winning a presidential election or being a plumber. There's nothing wrong with either. However, like private schools, they have their pros and cons. Public Schools, due to their size, simply do not have time for one-on-one attention to failing students, so many fall through the cracks. Also, though education at public schools can certainly be good, private schools are almost always a few steps ahead in curriculum material. Back to the original intent of this message (grasping at the thread of his improper use of hyperbolistically), WHO CARES? Everybody makes mistakes. Not only is calling people for making a mistake a bit hypocritical, it's also being a nit-picking asshole. But it's good that you answered his message with something, even though you couldn't counter it.

Actually, some of it is pretty funny. You just don't think it's funny because you disagree with it, which shows how closed-minded you're being. Even I find some jokes I disagree with to be funny.

There are flaws, but for the most part he is absolutely right. Nobody's perfect, but let's face it. He wouldn't be the #4 Radio Talk Show Host in America if he wasn't right most of the time.
First off, Thomas, you are a self-proclaimed gnostic christian. More than
likely, you are swayed by the opinions of such movements as “the jesus
seminar”. This in itself is a matter that just makes me fall into a deep
giggling frenzy. Also, I get undeniably confused at how a gnostic christian
could also be a self proclaimed oral sex practicing homosexual. Then again,
I guess the whole of christian theology can always be tossed away do to the
grand gnosis and its unknowable and unspoken ideas. However…this is
besides the point…let’s just get to the meat of the issue.
[Not “self-proclaimed”. Born and baptised, the son of a priest. That’s about as authoritative as you can get. I’m not “swayed” by the opinions of the Jesus Seminar. I studied their work in college under Burton Mack, found it interesting, reasonably logical, but in my opinion, it is driven by a Protestant theological impulse that demands a literal reading of the Bible (in this case, via linguistic analysis to determine the historical authenticity of particular sayings) for theological validity. For a Gnostic, the validity of a work lies in it’s psychological truth - thus we accept works such as the Hypostasis of the Archons as valid, even though we are fully aware that they were composed decades, even centuries later than the events they purport to describe. You are correct, we do toss away the whole of orthodox Christian theology, for gnosis - direct, and personal knowledge of the Unknown Father and “truth”. Who needs theology when you have direct personal experience?]
Except, in that, you directly go against the Bible and all of its teachings. The Bible is to be recognized as God's word that is backed up by the beliefs of about a third of the world's population. In that book are instructions from God to the people of the world. And whether you like it or not, if you're a Christian of any kind, you had better listen and comply with the Lord God Almighty's teachings. If he says don't be a homosexual, then you cannot be a homosexual and still fully practice a Christian lifestyle of any kind. Gnostic teachings are flawed in that manner.
For the typical liberal, this is where you stop reading…because the
following is something that just might make sense. After all….this is the
way all the santa cruzians do it. Trust me, I have been ignored by my fair
share of santa cruz liberals. I always wonder why they get so offended by

Affirmative Action is discrimination. The entire concept of racial
affirmative action is the exact epitome of racism. If blacks receive
special “treatment” for being black, then the government is officially
saying that they are weaker. It’s like playing a game of basketball and
giving your firend a 10 point head start. IT’s just the government saying,
“you’re weaker than the rest so here…have some pity.”

It is saying that, way to often, we make excuses for our failure to reach out to a broad and diverse community of people, simply because we’re most comfortable and familiar with what we know.]
In today's system, the only reason you don't see as many blacks as there are whites in the workplace is because this country is composed primarily of white people. And no matter how you spin it, affirmative action is wrong. It is deviously racist towards EVERYBODY. Eliminate affirmative action and put blacks and whites on the same playing field. There is one constant in this whole mess as of now- whites recieve normal treatment. If you're of another race, however, things seem to vary. In the sixties, they were given poor treatment by colleges and workplaces. Today, they are given preferred treatment. Let's just call the whole thing off, and put everyone on an even field? That way, you're not offending white people by giving another race preferred treatment, and you're not offending black people by seemingly saying "you're not as good as white man. Therefore I'm going to give you a leg up." Because that, my friend, is affirmative action's main implication right there, and it doesn't take a philosopher to see that. It just takes someone who isn't ignorant.
If the standards for women fire-fighters are less than the standards for
male fire-fighters, this means that the government is saying that women are
weaker than men. This is a discriminatory statement. Instead of, “best
man/woman gets the job” it is “woman gets the job…regardless of ability”.
Giving a black man a job for being black is like saying, “because you
couldn’t have done it on your own because you are a worthless black, you can
have it.”
[No. It is saying that, perhaps the physical standards for firefighters aren’t all that matters. That we’ve looked at the standards, and decided that they’ve been rigged to exclude women, and that ultimately that is harmful to the well being of our society, by denying us the firefighting skills of half the population. So, without compromising people’s safety, we’ve altered them. Are you suggesting that the women firefighters now employed across the country are incompetent and undeserving of their positions? That they didn’t have to meet extraordinary standards of physical fitness and endurance to qualify for their positions? I dare you to say that to the face of any woman firefighter.
The "Extraordinary Standards" set by firefighters are NOT to exclude women. A firefighter has to be physically able to put out the fires, lift the heavy axes, and carry people out. In theory, stating that the standards are made to exclude one group or another could also be used to put a parapalegic in the firefighters as well! The standards of firefighters are not made to only allow men. They are there to keep people alive and stop deadly fires. What would you feel safer with in a four-alarm fire occuring in your home- a firefighting force that's "diverse", but not necessarily best for the job, or a firefighting force that's "un-diverse" (or whatever the word for it this week is), but the best at it? I'm not saying that all women are not cut out for firefighting. There are plenty of strong women out there who have the massive physical strength required to fight fires effectively. But the facts are facts, and any biology course at any school will tell you this if you're too ignorant to notice it yourself. Women are usually not as physically strong as men. There are exceptions, and when it comes to firefighting not all men are cut out for the job as well, but affirmative action is placing risk on peoples' lives now.
And, similarly - do you question the competence of the thousands of African American police officers, firefighters, etc. who’ve benefited from affirmative action? What you’re really complaining about is that in some cases, they didn’t do quite as well on a test as a white guy - well, I have news for you: life isn’t always about doing well on tests, and tests aren’t always the best way of evaluating the value or competence of an individual. Is urban America better off because a substantial number of the people patrolling the streets aren’t white? I’d say so.]
I have little to say to you on this. By affirmative action, and giving them a head start at getting to college, you question their competence much more. If a person can't pass a test, which is usually taken in a controlled environment, then how do you expect them to succeed in a real situation? Tests do not evaluate the value of an individual by any stretch of the imagination. It is what they do that determines their value. Mother Theresa and Martin Luther King Jr. were great people. They had morals, they spread hope and joy to millions, and they weren't doing it for their own glory. Tests do, on the other hand, offer the best possible evaluation of competence in that subject besides actual experience. If some white man wants to be a firefighter, and he doesn't pass the test by a few points, will you let him in the service? Now take the same context and apply it to a black man, it should not be any different!

[Facts are malleable things. Which prisoners are you talking about (state, federal, local jails)? What are they there for? Why are they there? Fact: California has the highest percentage of illegal aliens in the country, and they still make up barely half that percentage - 12.5% of the population. ~20,000 out of ~6,000,000. Most of them there for non-violent crimes. What are the percentages in other states likely to be? Sure, the Federal prisons are 25% illegal (low end of the range you cite) - but many of them are there because of a law passed in 1996 that tosses people in jail for repeat illegal immigration violations. See various columns by Raoul Lowery Contreras (easily findable via Google).
California has a high population of illegals indeed. And that is a very bad thing, they siphon money off the economy that you liberals are always so whiny about. And evidently the public school you went to didn't have too good of a math program. I strongly suggest that you re-evaluate that figure. And they are wrong to toss people in jail for any illegal immigration violation. They need to ship those people out of the United States of America, back to their homelands, and let them enter the country legally. Let Mexico deal with their runaways. We have enough people in our prisons for real crimes (drug dealers, rapists, murderers), and there are more of those every day.

2 out of 2 of the shooters at Columbine were white teenage males. It is at all surprising that the terrorists on 9/11 were all of a single ethnicity? Hell, most of them were of a single nationality: Saudi Arabian. Our loyal allies in the Middle East. This no more makes all Arabs or Saudi Arabians terrorists, or a generic threat to our society, or even particularly that much more likely to be terrorists on an individual basis, than Columbine should make us look with particular suspicion at white teenage males. … I could mention the generic profile of a serial killer in our society is white and male, and that the police operate on that basis… but that would be reverse racism, right?]
No, it would not. Another fact is that white males, being the most numerous in this society, have done the most crimes. And the Columbine killers were psychos. They were two of the kids who fell through the cracks at a public high school. You're right. It is absolutely fucked up. Women are not to blame for being raped. It's men's fault. But there are a number of things women can do to help avoid it, even though the responsibility for stopping it lies with men. After all, if men and women have equal rights, they have equal responsibilities. Women shouldn't dress or act slutty, or "go out" with men that may be perverts. It's a mutual fight against such things.

this site to hear a good counterargument to his teachings. Instead, I get a
web site full of dis-information and opinions against a man’s speaking style
and humor usage. Try debating his issues! Rationally rebut a claim by
savage and then I might actually have semi-respect for your cause.

Except, in that, you directly go against the Bible and all of its teachings. The Bible is to be recognized as God's word that is backed up by the beliefs of about a third of the world's population. In that book are instructions from God to the people of the world. And whether you like it or not, if you're a Christian of any kind, you had better listen and comply with the Lord God Almighty's teachings. If he says don't be a homosexual, then you cannot be a homosexual and still fully practice a Christian lifestyle of any kind. Gnostic teachings are flawed in that manner.

Affirmative Action is discrimination. The entire concept of racial
affirmative action is the exact epitome of racism. If blacks receive
special “treatment” for being black, then the government is officially
saying that they are weaker. It’s like playing a game of basketball and
giving your firend a 10 point head start. IT’s just the government saying,
“you’re weaker than the rest so here…have some pity.”

In today's system, the only reason you don't see as many blacks as there are whites in the workplace is because this country is composed primarily of white people. And no matter how you spin it, affirmative action is wrong. It is deviously racist towards EVERYBODY. Eliminate affirmative action and put blacks and whites on the same playing field. There is one constant in this whole mess as of now- whites recieve normal treatment. If you're of another race, however, things seem to vary. In the sixties, they were given poor treatment by colleges and workplaces. Today, they are given preferred treatment. Let's just call the whole thing off, and put everyone on an even field? That way, you're not offending white people by giving another race preferred treatment, and you're not offending black people by seemingly saying "you're not as good as white man. Therefore I'm going to give you a leg up." Because that, my friend, is affirmative action's main implication right there, and it doesn't take a philosopher to see that. It just takes someone who isn't ignorant.
If the standards for women fire-fighters are less than the standards for
male fire-fighters, this means that the government is saying that women are
weaker than men. This is a discriminatory statement. Instead of, “best
man/woman gets the job” it is “woman gets the job…regardless of ability”.
Giving a black man a job for being black is like saying, “because you
couldn’t have done it on your own because you are a worthless black, you can
have it.”
[No. It is saying that, perhaps the physical standards for firefighters aren’t all that matters. That we’ve looked at the standards, and decided that they’ve been rigged to exclude women, and that ultimately that is harmful to the well being of our society, by denying us the firefighting skills of half the population. So, without compromising people’s safety, we’ve altered them. Are you suggesting that the women firefighters now employed across the country are incompetent and undeserving of their positions? That they didn’t have to meet extraordinary standards of physical fitness and endurance to qualify for their positions? I dare you to say that to the face of any woman firefighter.
The "Extraordinary Standards" set by firefighters are NOT to exclude women. A firefighter has to be physically able to put out the fires, lift the heavy axes, and carry people out. In theory, stating that the standards are made to exclude one group or another could also be used to put a parapalegic in the firefighters as well! The standards of firefighters are not made to only allow men. They are there to keep people alive and stop deadly fires. What would you feel safer with in a four-alarm fire occuring in your home- a firefighting force that's "diverse", but not necessarily best for the job, or a firefighting force that's "un-diverse" (or whatever the word for it this week is), but the best at it? I'm not saying that all women are not cut out for firefighting. There are plenty of strong women out there who have the massive physical strength required to fight fires effectively. But the facts are facts, and any biology course at any school will tell you this if you're too ignorant to notice it yourself. Women are usually not as physically strong as men. There are exceptions, and when it comes to firefighting not all men are cut out for the job as well, but affirmative action is placing risk on peoples' lives now.
And, similarly - do you question the competence of the thousands of African American police officers, firefighters, etc. who’ve benefited from affirmative action? What you’re really complaining about is that in some cases, they didn’t do quite as well on a test as a white guy - well, I have news for you: life isn’t always about doing well on tests, and tests aren’t always the best way of evaluating the value or competence of an individual. Is urban America better off because a substantial number of the people patrolling the streets aren’t white? I’d say so.]
I have little to say to you on this. By affirmative action, and giving them a head start at getting to college, you question their competence much more. If a person can't pass a test, which is usually taken in a controlled environment, then how do you expect them to succeed in a real situation? Tests do not evaluate the value of an individual by any stretch of the imagination. It is what they do that determines their value. Mother Theresa and Martin Luther King Jr. were great people. They had morals, they spread hope and joy to millions, and they weren't doing it for their own glory. Tests do, on the other hand, offer the best possible evaluation of competence in that subject besides actual experience. If some white man wants to be a firefighter, and he doesn't pass the test by a few points, will you let him in the service? Now take the same context and apply it to a black man, it should not be any different!

[Facts are malleable things. Which prisoners are you talking about (state, federal, local jails)? What are they there for? Why are they there? Fact: California has the highest percentage of illegal aliens in the country, and they still make up barely half that percentage - 12.5% of the population. ~20,000 out of ~6,000,000. Most of them there for non-violent crimes. What are the percentages in other states likely to be? Sure, the Federal prisons are 25% illegal (low end of the range you cite) - but many of them are there because of a law passed in 1996 that tosses people in jail for repeat illegal immigration violations. California has a high population of illegals indeed. And that is a very bad thing, they siphon money off the economy that you liberals are always so whiny about. And evidently the public school you went to didn't have too good of a math program. I strongly suggest that you re-evaluate that figure. They need to ship those people out of the United States of America, back to their homelands, and let them enter the country legally. Let Mexico deal with their runaways. 2. Barney will be cryogenically frozen and launched towards the sun. 10 minutes before impact, he'll be unfrozen and his screams of terror will be radioed back to earth and played on the XM radio.
3. Sattelite TV will become mandatory.
4. Freakishly gay people will be shot in the streets. That means transvestites will all be dead.
5. Churches, Beer Stores, and Wal-Marts on every street.
6. Radio Shack will be made into a super-store, at least as big as wal-mart.
7. Duct Tape will be as cheap as dirt, and even better than it already is. "If you can't fix it, duct it!"
8. Ugly people will be banned from wearing swimsuits in public.
9. There will be no abortion, and the Church will be integrated into schools.
10. Michael Savage will be the president of the USA when Bush leaves office.
11. Ozzy Osbourne will be the vice president, and Eminem the Secretary of defense.
12. Hollywood will be nuked.
13. White Sapphire will be tarred and feathered, then shot repeatedly.
14. The World Trade Center towers will be rebuilt at a different site, bigger, better, and taller than before.

There will be 20 Anime Channels, 50 ESPNs, and football every night. Also there will be 30 stations devoted to hockey and a station purely for Jackass.

19. We shall take a 1957 Soviet Nuke- and shove it up Saddam Hussein's ass. he wants a nuke so bad, now he has one. Then we'll shoot him.
20. The rest of Al-Quaida will be shipped to a militant Israeli synagogue naked. We'll broadcast that on payperview too.

The Real Meaning of Homophobe, and the stupidity of Yorkshire Terriers
As I sat at my computer, writing a batch menu, it came to me that though the word "Homophobe" has gained acceptance as a normal word to describe a "bad" person, it is often misused and almost completely misunderstood. Many left-wingers and members of the homosexual "community" use the term to describe anyone who hates homosexuals. A homophobe is simply a person with a phobia of them, phobia meaning an intense fear. And not all fear translates to hate. So while you review anything else in here, disregard my self-established title of Homophobe. I don't fear Homosexuals at all. They're nothing to be afraid of, they don't spread their gayness to you from 1000 yards or whatever. However... go ahead and keep on shunning open homosexuality. It's just nasty, and it's completely wrong. The best part is that while fears may be manipulated to insult one, hatred is something that, when against certain things (Satanists, Nazis, Terrorists, Homosexuals), is not just a good thing, but should be encouraged. So if you post an anti-gay message on a web site, take the "You're a GAY-HATER!" "hate"-mail as compliments. That's the best way to derail those sickening bleeding hearts who pretend to suck up (no pun intended) to queerfolk just to steal their money.
Another thing that my mind roved to while I remained fixed in front of my computer was that Yorkshire Terriers are truly an insult to dogs. Get in your mind the image of a real dog, say, a Retriever or a Labrador. Loyal, loving dogs that are both useful, strong, and beautiful animals. What a generalized statement. I come from an absolutely staggeringly huge family, all of which were monogamous, lasting marriages. We're also all homophobic to an extreme. And I have a strong feeling that most anti-gay men and women are exactly the same: fully rooted in decency, with no curiosity into the infathomable evil that is homosexuality.

Confrontations are normal in any society. If we just tolerated everyone's bullshit all the time we would be one constantly pissed-off society. My Great-Grandfather worked his ass off until he went senile and even then we didn't stick him in a nursing home. In my opinion, it's worse to see people you love and care about bedridden in some smelly, institutionalized shithole then to see them dead.

I got the idea for a blog because it's a lot easier to update than the out-of-date and highly ineffective Geocities site was. As I perused different services, this is the one that appealed most, so the Haven was born. And man do I have a lot of stuff to put up here. I think it's high time a few fools are properly countered, and few inbreds are properly hammered.
